Current TV is looking for an Online Community Manager:

JOB SUMMARY

The Online Community Manager will report to the Director of Current TV¡¦s Online Community and assist in all functions related to community messaging, retention and moderation with some email and screening support.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Will manage two full-time community coordinators, one part-time community coordinator and one content screener.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1) Community retention strategy
Tasks include working with Director of Community to:
„X Develop user incentive programs
„X Develop and manage a moderator program
„X Create a user email strategy and work with data analyst on optimization

2) Community messaging
Tasks include:
„X Posting on the Current blog, messaging policy changes and company announcements
„X Updating site FAQs, editing site text and email text
„X Coordinating and editing weekly/monthly newsletters

3) Manage and grow community coordinators and content screeners
Tasks include:
„X Co-hosting weekly status meeting with manager of online outreach
„X Creating goals and assigning tasks to community coordinators/content screeners

4) Liaise with programming department on community-building plans
Tasks include:
„X Partnering with programming to develop and promote contests
„X Working with franchises to grow fan communities

5) Community moderation and content screening
Tasks include:
„X Responding to abuse flags
„X Participating in discussions, keeping conversations going, answering questions
„X Regularly sift through content submitted (clipped, uploaded, text) for community and legal standards violations

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Above-average computer skills
- Must be passionate about the web, our demographic and building community

REQUIRED
- 3-5 years previous work experience, ideally in a web environment
- Bachelor¡¦s degree

PREFERRED
- Experience as an online community moderator. Bloggers welcome, too.
