Just recovered from a WordPress hack

Hi guys…I’m quite back and I’m writing in to let you know that I just recovered from a malicious hack. That’s right…my blog got hacked few hours ago. Good thing the hackers didn’t delete everything. They just altered the index.php with their sort of trademark vandalism with personal greets and shout-outs. They also changed my admin password. Good thing I found this website at http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/26/how-to-reset-wordpress-password-to-recover-forgotten-secret/ and managed to put my site back to normal.

My fault here is that I don’t regularly check the latest release of WordPress…so people, the lesson learned here is always get updated with the latest WordPress release and upgrade to it immediately.

Oh my, bloggers should be aware of that. Can you suggest how can we increase our blog’s security? Another thing, can we exchange links?

the only security measure I could think of is to get frequently updated with the latest WordPress version.
