Halo halo sa Corazon – the best ever!

Although I already have a previous post about it, I still can’t help but post another one. I give up! I REALLY LOVE HALO HALO SA CORAZON!

Even though I’m already familiar with its signature taste, still I can’t help myself from uttering curses and “Mmmm” at each swallow of spoonful of this obra maestra. A few days ago I took a walk to the Nepo mall (Angeles city, Pampanga) and browsed for some books until I got hungry and thirsty at the same time…I saw the signboard of Halo Halo Sa Corazon right outside the mall and figured why not take a go at it again.

And so I did. While waiting for it,I can’t help myself from looking at the still images of their halo-halo on their menu and picture myself how I would savor the rich taste of it again. And voila…the special halo halo was served right infront of me…all ready to conquer my taste buds, my thirsty throat and my rumbling hungry tummy. The first swallow is comparable to the first landing on the moon—one small swallow for me, one giant awe for everyone. I really mean it. I literally said “Mmmm!” so loud that the other customers there are looking at me.

The taste still possess the same delicious creaminess that’s been the trademark all these years. The shaved ice is still the same soft and easy to mix with spoon. I guarantee you’ll never leave the glass empty because it’s oh-so-good-until-the-last-drop.

Here’s a picture of their halo halo that I’ve taken as soon as they served it to me delicious halo halo sa corazon

Don’t be mislead with how it looks like here. A lot of people mislead its look thinking that it’s so dull and pale. You know the saying Don’t judge the book by its cover? true enough, Don’t judge this halo halo by how it looks like. Instead, judge its taste! This halo halo is not the stereo-typical halo halos out there that has ice cream and all. Most of those halo halos anyway have shaved ice that is just so hard to mix and eventually falls off the glass…and its milk is like drinking an evaporated milk straight from the can. Corazon’s Halo Halo is exceptional! It may have a few line of concoctions in it, BUT each of them were specially cooked to perfection. In Tagalog, it’s not “bitin”. Guaranteed you’ll get full and thirst-quenched at the same time.

Honestly, I’m running out of words just to say how delicious Halo Halo Sa Corazon really is. I just love it. And I love it. And also I love it. Didn’t I just say that I love it? Yes I love it. Even people from faraway places are so eager to take a dip at Corazon’s special halo halo..so why wouldn’t you? Don’t know how to get there? No problem…just let me know. I can point you to the three of their branches. And when you get there, don’t forget to also order their special palabok because that too tastes heavenly.

Will I post about it again the next time I eat at Halo Halo Sa Corazon? We’ll see. It’s just so worth posting it.

The actual description for halo-halo sounds familiar. I went to some kind of Asian restaurant (might have been Thai; I don’t remember) and they had a drink called Rainbow Ice that was a mixture of crushed ice, sweetened beans and coconut milk (or something coconut).

Is that by some chance the same thing as this person is talking about? I really liked it :)

Oh I was correct. I just looked it up and it’s the Vietnamese name for Halo-Halo. So it was a Vietnamese restaurant that I went to…I remember now. Good stuff!

Here in the Philippines we call it Halo halo because the word “halo” means mix.

If by chance you’re going to take a vacation in the Philippines and head towards Pampanga, don’t forget to hunt down for “Halo Halo sa Corazon”.
